Confusion Says

Mahalo VLOGIdol Contestant Search, Found One I like

Hey guys and gals, I have been paying a lot of attention to the new search for a Mahalo Daily host.

I haven’t really found anyone that could replace Veronica Belmont. However, I just noticed this one and I have to say I am really impressed. Not only is she really pretty, but she has a lot of charisma in front of a camera.

She gets my vote for the next host of Mahalo Daily.

New web service tracks search ranking

I just discovered an awesome new Search Ranking reporting tool named SearchRascal. This sounds like a really nice service, but my main question is how is this site going to be able to track all the terms people are constantly searching? If they can keep up with that, they will be fine I think.

Granted that this service is new, I really struggle to imagine how profitable of an area this will be. It is a good idea, especially since it appears that you can save your keywords and such, but how useful will this really be? I really do hope it becomes a successful service. I guess I’m just used to the way Alexa presents you with a nice graph of the traffic of the particular website, which I think maybe a good idea for them to do with the keywords that way you see how much traffic that particular keyword is getting. Alexa does not do this, so it seems like an area that can be exploited. My main concern is the impact of knowing how long you have been ranked a certain way on Google, Yahoo! or Windows Live.

As I have said before, I really do hope this succeeds, and I really hope Alexa gets some competition. We will see in the coming months.

Rowing For Hope

I’m a very big supporter in people that do this type of event for cancer research. Paul Ridley, wants to row across the ocean, which would be 2,950 miles according to his website solo. In case you didn’t know, that is an insane amount of rowing and also many days of rowing.

The guy is not asking for much, he is asking for donations, which I believe people should donate. Anyone that is willing to sacrifice their time and effort in order to help better the lives of other people is a very good person in my book.

So please join me in helping support Paul Ridley in his quest to row across the ocean. It doesn’t matter what you donate, even if is it just a little. Anything would help him.

In case anyone is wondering, I am not at all affiliated with this person. Heck I don’t even know who he is, but as far as I’m concerned he is trying to help, so I will help him help.

Also, to get this more into the press view, please digg this story on Digg.

PC Gaming is Dead

I’m usually not one of these types of people that are pessimistic like this and say something is dead when there are still active games being developed for it, such Crysis .

However, from the recent news I have been hearing, for example EA stating they will not distribute a Madden NFL 09 version for PC. Yes, I am aware that I am in the minority, I do play sports games. I still want sports games on my PC. I almost died when I heard EA was no longer producing baseball games for the PC, but I got through it because I knew I could always play football.

Today, when I read the news I also see that Computer Gaming World, aka. Games for Windows is shutting down and moving to online formats. While this is a good idea, there is still a lot to cover that I would enjoy reading in print rather than online.

With the two above stories happening rather close to each other, I’m saying PC gaming is finally dying. I know I’m going to get some nasty comments saying “you have no idea what the hell you are talking about”, but just ask yourself, how many of the games you have for the PC did you pirate? How many of the games would you ever play again? How many games, if were available on other consoles (and most are), would you buy on the other console?

I know it is a rather harsh conclusion, but for now, until I see otherwise and more development in the PC gaming department, I’m declaring PC gaming dead (or at least on life support).

Mahalo’ing in Style!

While browsing Valleywag this afternoon, I saw an interesting post about Sean Percival and his Audi.

Really I don’t see a reason for the above post by Audi, but after browsing the comments I noticed something extremely hilarious.

Obviously Mahalo staff workers know how Style or at least they think they do. I’m not really sure what exactly they are doing in the above photo, looks like just a reaction to the previous Valleywag article.

Anyways, thought I would share it. Enjoy the lolz

Some Radio Stations Annoy Me

Lately, I have been listening to a lot of radio stations. From what I have heard, there is one thing that ticks me off. This is also the reason that I avoid listening to radio stations at all costs. They never tell you the song name!  I know some radio stations do, but not all of them do. I am just focusing on the one’s that don’t.

Seriously though, if you are a music artist you want people to know the song. Sometimes I hear a song on the radio that I love, but I don’t know the song name. How exactly am I supposed to look this information up if I don’t know the song name or even the artist?

I understand that radio stations must make sacrifices in order to give people as much radio as possible while maintaining a strict budget, but wouldn’t more people (like me for example) listen to the radio if they actually gave the song name? More listeners = More advertising money.

It would only take a couple of seconds to give the name of the song. I understand it would cost a little bit of money, but I think it would be a worthy investment for a radio station to actually give the name of the song before the singer starts singing it.

Anyone else agree?
