You heard right, Intel officially announced there will be another price drop This means you can finally get that Intel processor slightly cheaper. The price drop was supposed to occur on July 20, 2008. Currently, it is July 21st, so I imagine we will soon be seeing the updated prices.

For those that don’t want to look, the processors affected include:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

Sony Ericsson Plummets!

You heard right, one of the largest phone maker is plummeting fast. They announced they will have a 97% drop in fresh profits for the second quarter of 2008. That is not great news for Sony Ericsson and owners of said phones.

Granted there is “something” going on in the economy, that is still a huge drop. Nokia for example, only dropped 61%. I imagine part of this big decline has to do with the iPhone and the like craze.

Hopefully these companies can stay up with the other makers and keep supplying phones.

AMD’s Chief Executive Steps Down

AMD has announced that Chief Executive Hector Ruiz has stepped down from the chief executive position. The announcement is not a surprise considering AMD has posted losses for quite some time.

Based on what I’ve seen, it doesn’t seem like AMD is going to make a comeback at Intel any time soon. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if AMD went bankrupt with the way it is going at the moment. Hopefully they pick up soon to keep competitive with Intel. No competition means Intel can charge whatever prices they want.

The reason for this could also be the struggling economy, which is borderline recession.

Hopefully a new Chief Executive (Dirk Meyer) will translate to success for AMD.

Docstoc.com, A Place To Find Documents

Lately, I have heard a lot of buzz about Docstoc.com.

After checking out the site, I still have no idea what exactly their primary goal is. I understand they want to collect all the documents into one place, but I don’t see how they are going to do this. I do have to admit the documents they do have are very pretty and they are doing a great job collecting documents so far.

I have submitted a few things to the site for their Twiistup contest. I’m not sure what exactly they are looking for, but hopefully I did what I was supposed to do.

If Docstoc can remain popular and keep a large amount of documents coming in per day, I think it will excel in the business world.

The one thing I wish they would have though is more templates. Like for example, when I do a search for Resume I get a whole bunch of different people’s resumes. I would like just a template so I can do one for myself. After scrolling down the page you will see a few templates, but in my opinion, these need to be at the top of the page.

I really do hope Docstoc succeeds because it is an awesome service and I look forward to using it in the future.

MLB Network?

Okay, I just go over the fact that there is an NFL Network, but now it looks like, as of January 1, 2009, there will be a MLB Network.

This is not a good idea. Primarily because eventually major sports events like the World Series, All-Star game, Home Run Derby, etc will only display on these specialized channels. I know it is only set to display 26 games this next year, but come on, we all know it will display more the next year.

If you are one of the lucky people that get this channel without paying, lucky you, but unfortunately, a lot of people are probably going to be left in the dust.

An A-List Blogger Stops Blogging

CEO and Founder of Mahalo.com, Jason Calacanis, has announced that he will no longer be blogging and will focus more on maintaining a more private, closer e-mail list with around 750 people.

I think Jason will come out of retirement, similar to what Brett Favre is trying to do with Packers.

I know I really enjoy reading Jason’s blogs and will truly miss reading his mostly daily blogs. Hopefully he finds another way to entertain the rest of us.

Good luck to Jason and I hope he finds a way to keep us all informed.
